The Writtle and South Woodham Ferrers Neighbourhood Plans were both successful at referendum on 21st October, receiving 93% and 73% votes in favour of making the Plans respectively.
The Writtle Plan has a focus on the distinct character of the village, local heritage and landscape setting. The South Woodham Ferrers Plan establishes principles for development that respond to its design legacy as the original ‘Essex Design guide town’. It also promotes improvements to the town centre, access to green space and the movement network for short, everyday journeys.
These are the first two Plans to be made in Chelmsford. Troy Planning + Design supported both groups through the plan-making process and is currently working with three other groups in Chelmsford, at Danbury, Little Baddow and Sandon.
