Mapping / GIS Support Opportunity
Troy Planning + Design is looking to connect with someone with strong mapping and GIS skills to support our growing project work.
We are an urban planning consultancy working on neighbourhood plans, local plans, infrastructure plans, site assessments, spatial strategies and development-related projects across the UK and internationally. We regularly need support preparing clear, professional maps and spatial outputs for reports, presentations and evidence base work. The main requirement is good working knowledge of QGIS, including the ability to prepare accurate, well-presented maps using OS base data, planning and environmental designation layers, site boundaries, infrastructure networks and other spatial datasets. Experience with map styling, layout production and exporting publication-ready figures would be particularly useful.
Additional skills in spatial analysis would be a bonus, for example accessibility analysis, constraints mapping, land-use analysis, infrastructure capacity/context mapping, catchment analysis, demographic/spatial data interpretation or other GIS-based analytical work.
We are initially looking for someone for around 1–2 days per week, paid at competitive rates. The work can be carried out remotely, although someone based in or near London would be preferred.
This may suit a student, recent graduate, alumni or early-career professional who is organised, visually careful, technically confident and interested in how spatial data can inform planning, urban design, infrastructure and place-making decisions.
