As a company Director, I am proud to work alongside a team who has a passion for creating beautiful, sustainable and equitable places.
An Urban Designer specialising in management and design for 27 years in both the private and public sectors, I have been involved in a variety of projects from small scale architecture to strategic concept visioning. My work includes all design related aspects of site promotion, masterplanning, community plans and supporting documents: Design Guides, Design Codes, Design Statements and Character Assessments. As an expert in a landscape-led approach to design much of my work falls within protected landscapes from farm diversification, equestrian to one off replacement dwellings in the countryside.
In my previous roles in the public sector, I managed and facilitated the South Downs National Park Design Review Panel, led design workshops, advised on significant and Major Planning Applications and supported Local Plan Design Policy and SPDs: Development Briefs, Design Guides, Town and Village Design Statements, Neighbourhood Plans, Area Action Plans and Strategic Development Frameworks.
My varied background and people skills evolve from a successful career in theatre before parenthood (General Management and Stage Management). This cumulative experience enables me to understand people, inclusivity and the big picture, as well the technical issues and details of a project. Creative thinking, problem solving and working collaboratively with a range of professionals, I operate through clear communication of complex design concepts to successfully negotiate and influence design decisions.
Apart from spending time with my family and dog, my passions are continual learning, music, dancing, travel and discovery, exploring international communities and neighbourhoods (especially love the Dutch cycling culture!). I am also an artist.
