Chalfont St Peter

Troy Planning + Design has been appointed to update Chalfont St Peter Neighbourhood Plan and prepare a Design Guide for the Parish. The Design Guide will establish the key local design characteristics and qualities; providing a visual blueprint to help positively shape future development within the Parish.

Building on the National Model Design Code’s three-part ‘Design Code Process’, the Design Guide includes baseline information to inform the subsequent design vision and guidance. The Design Guide then sets out overall design principles for the Parish, in addition to Character Area – specific guidance.

This hierarchical model ensures that the Design Guide can be applied flexibly, whilst ensuring that future development is in keeping with the local identity and existing mix of uses. 

Once adopted, the Design Guide will be a material consideration when determining planning application within the Parish.
