Overview

Troy Planning + Design is pleased to have supported the South Downs National Park Authority with their application for planning permission for the first phase of their long-term vision for Seven Sisters Country Park, which represents an investment of just under £2 million. In collaboration with the National Park and Pritchard Architecture, our role was to provide ongoing planning and design support, produce consultation materials for community engagement events, and to submit and manage the applications for planning permission and Listed Building Consent, through the determination process. Our inputs included:

  1. Planning Statement;
  2. Design and Access Statement;
  3. Noise Assessment; and
  4. Sustainability Statements

We also attended Parish Council meetings on behalf of the National Park Authority as planning applicant, and spoke in support of the proposals at the Planning Committee meeting. On the Park’s behalf, we ensured that a landscape-led approach to the development proposals had been fully demonstrated. The scheme provides upgraded facilities to better meet visitor numbers and will ensure stewardship of this sensitive landscape.

The works include the refurbishment of the existing visitor centre, enhanced camping provision, bunk house and accessible holiday accommodation, toilet and wash facilities, parking, waste and recycling storage and appropriate wayfinding. We were delighted to see the planning and listed building applications unanimously supported at the Planning Committee in October 2020.
