We are working with Writtle Parish to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan that establishes design principles for new development at a strategic growth location in the Local Plan, responding to the landscape character and structure of development in the area.

Writtle is surrounded by Green Belt, with the network of green spaces and watercourses running through and around the Parish forming a strong identity and local character. These are emphasised through policies in the Plan, which also draw upon an earlier Village Design Statement and recognition of the historic nature of the village to inform guidance for smaller development and infill opportunities that might come forward within the village as well as the 800 home growth area.
The Plan has been submitted for examination. A Design Guide sits alongside this, providing evidence to the Plan and a series of principles that new development should respond to.
