I am an urban planner and the Founder & Managing Director of Troy Planning + Design which I set up in 2013 following a number of roles at large planning consultancies and working within local government.
My experience of plan-making ranges from the regional scale down to street level and site specific plans. I regularly advise local governments, landowners, developers and local communities on strategic plan-making including large scale developments, the preparation of technical evidence base such as infrastructure plans, development strategies, masterplanning, town centre visions and design codes. I am passionate about genuine community engagement and empowerment and build this ethos into my projects.
I am regular speaker on innovation and digital transformation in the fields of urban planning and urban design including the company’s development and deployment of a range of digital planning tools to improve the planning-making, design and engagement process.
I am a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) and am European Coordinator of the American Planning Association International Division. I have a BSc in Community Development (specialism in Housing and Economic Development) from Portland State University and a MSc in Spatial Planning (specialism in European Spatial Planning) from University College London (The Bartlett School of Planning).
Outside of work I enjoy time with my family, cycling (on a Dutch bike), live music and following American sports.
