Troy Planning + Design is delighted to be commissioned to prepare the first ever Infrastructure Delivery Plan for the Isle of Wight. This will assess the infrastructure requirements associated with new growth across the Island for the period to 2036, supporting production of the new Local Plan – ‘The Island Planning Strategy’. It will consider the full range of physical, social and green infrastructure required, when this should be delivered, and the costs and funding arrangements associated with this.

Jon Herbert, Director with Troy Planning + Design, said that:
“The unique Island context brings a particular set of infrastructure challenges, not least the inter-related issue of connection and separation with the mainland, the highly seasonal employment sector, and the demand placed on social infrastructure as a result of an ageing population”.

The infrastructure needs will be informed through engagement with service providers, the development industry and Parish Councils. Requirements will be mapped and linked to an interactive GIS, allowing the IDP to be monitored and updated overtime, but also to assist with its use by a wider audience.

Troy Hayes, Managing Director, Troy Planning + Design, said:
“We look forward to working with Isle of Wight Council, service providers and the local community to understand the infrastructure challenges and opportunities for the Island and prepare a digital infrastructure delivery plan that uses the latest innovation in mapping technology”.
